DISCERNMENT / judgment, insight, and perception—the ability to see clearly, choose without spiralling, and own your choice.

okay, but what does this have to do with me?

well, if you are a student who made your first big choice about subject, university, country that you want to study,

or you are finishing university, getting face to face with "real" world,

or started navigating the high-stakes puzzle of a new career path, company, or conscious life…

you have years of formal study, you are well read, you listen into the podcasts with intention, observe the world, don’t fear status quo at all, still you have a feeling that can’t put a finger to it. it feels like you’ve been "schooled down to social size," and this reality of adulting is messy, overwhelming, and at times disempowering.

this is not a “you” or “world” or “you at a war with the whole world” thing. It is a missing skill. nothing prepared you for that, and you would actually like it here- when you explore play with presence and build that missing skill with diverse group.

why this, why now?

More options

Nearly infinite possibilities at your disposal, and very little practice of choosing between them makes you wonder “which one I connect with and why to choose only one, when I can be multiple?”

More thinking

This more is going to only increase and is adding to confusion. more advice, more inspiration, more knowledge. it is not creating any clarity, rather creating noise… until you break it! with YOUR discernment.

the actual room: Sthir Saturdays

diverse group of 8-10. 60 min. once a week. curated games, no lectures

🎭Improv

Applied improvisation and play* is fun kind of uncomfortable. you practice listening, creating, partnering and Making a Choice real time over thinking about and drowning into What ifs.

🧭Wayfinding Your Life

map play to presence → practice DYL (Design Your Life) Stanford d.school-rooted tools and frameworks during your week.

No worksheets to “discover your passion.” Just weekly reps until choosing, and owning your choice, feels more natural.

play - a state of active, joyful, and low-stakes experimentation where performers drop their inner critic, embrace spontaneity, and treat the creation of a scene like a fun game rather than a stressful performance. It relies on a mindset of curiosity and mutual trust.

what’s happening this month?

8:30–9:30 PM IST oZoom What is the Focal point?
August 8 choice making – where do choices come from?
August 15 -
August 22 emotions – I simply don’t get it when people play their victim card, overshare or even judge me
August 29 listening – you know what, I zone out in long conversations, and a stare feels safer than getting bored to death.

hmmm… still…

Do I need any experience? no. curiosity beats experience every time. come as you are.

What it is not? no yoga. no therapy. no meditation (while it has its own place, not my subject of expertise)

Will it be cringe? A little, at first. And that’s the point: low-stakes discomfort is practice for real life.

Laptop or phone? Laptop or desktop, please. we'll be working together, observing each other, and using gallery view throughout the sessions. Your presence matters as much as your participation.

Can I miss a week? Try not to. but life happens. jump into another session during the season.

How many Saturdays? stay in the structure, till choosing and owning your choices stops feeling like a threat.

What’s the catch, why for free? this is deeply personal for Shalu. She wants her daughters, their friends, and their friends’ friends and their circles to build the discernment muscle much earlier than she did. She has experienced firsthand the cost of making decisions on autopilot, seeking external validation, and discovering this way of thinking later in life. This is her way of paying that learning forward. no monetary cost doesn’t mean no investment. show up with openness, respect the group’s intention, and participate fully.

I get it, but I am a nerd. Welcome nerd! watch a couple of episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Or research about Stanford Professors Dave Evans and Bill Burret and their certification creds. this is genuinely enough for you to make a choice to play with presence. For science and data nerd, here is scientific quantitative research about Information discernment and the psychophysiological effects of misinformation

Stop waiting to “find yourself.”

Come build your choice muscle and create your magic.
